The Gift of the Shogun

(GenCon Indy 2006)

The Shogun holds great power in Rokugan while his brother, the Emperor, searches for the answers that can save his Empire. Yet the Shogun is suspected by many of coveting his brother's power, and desires the throne for himself. His most recent acts have done little to quell these suspicions.

The Shogun has sent word to the Great Clans of Rokugan, to the One Tribe of the Nezumi, and even the despised ambassador of the Lost, that that as a sign of his noble intentions he will assign one of his most trusted advisors to serve them. Ten people from Kaneka's inner circle of advisors, powerful men and women who have been in the background but instrumental in the Shogun's rise to power. The Shogun has offered their services to each of the Clans. Acceptance of such a gift will gain a Clan great favor with the Shogun, and such favor can be beneficial indeed. Those who refuse insult the Shogun’s honor, however, and will be all the poorer for it.

The top of Clan for each faction at GenCon Indy 2006 will choose to accept one of these powerful personalities, or to reject the Shogun's offer. Their choice will not be easy, as any of these people would bring great power to their Clan. Once the decisions have been made, these personalities will appear in cards later this year, aligned to their patron Clan.
