Prologue

As the age of the Lotus begins, the Elemental Dragons have gathered to watch the Empire with interest.

Most of the dragons are content to watch from afar, but one of them has chosen to directly influence this new age.

This dragon will chose a new Oracle, who will return to the Empire as a member of the selected clan. The winning player may choose any of the following dragons, and the Oracle personality will embody the following philosophies:

The Fire Dragon – A creature of violence, but also of incredible insight. He who can master fire’s rage will strike fear in his enemies.

The Air Dragon – He who sees what cannot be seen, subtle and clever. Though this dragon can be swift, it is also fickle.

The Earth Dragon – Solid, eternal, and patient. Though slow to act, this dragon possesses incredible power.

The Water Dragon – Enigmatic, changeable, and pervasive. This dragon is a creature of change, adapting to its situation.

The Void Dragon – Mysterious and wise, the Void Dragon combines aspects of every element. Though Void offers great flexibility, this dragon can be a demanding master.

The Shadow Dragon – If the winner of this tournament is playing a corrupt deck, he may choose any of the above dragons. The Oracle, however, will secretly be in league with the Shadow Dragon – the sinister corrupted brother of the mighty elemental dragons.

The new Oracle will be a new character. Though this character will be created by the L5R Story Team, the winner will be invited to share his input on the character’s name, gender, and background.
