The Mad Ronin

(Prologue)

The peasants of Rokugan sometimes whisper of a strange samurai, a bizarre individual that they know only as the Mad Ronin. He wanders alone, eyes tormented by the things he has seen, walking in a daze and mumbling tales of men long dead, of places long forgotten. He seems to have little connection to the present, except when the innocent are threatened.
When the need arises for a hero, the Mad Ronin’s vision becomes focused, his sword arm strong and swift. Those who owe their lives to the Mad Ronin honor him above all others, but also pity him, for his madness inevitably returns.

The faction played by the winner of this tournament shall discover the truth behind this strange hero’s madness, and help restore his sanity. They will discover the Mad Ronin’s clan of origin (the highest placing player using the Mad Ronin in their deck). He will return to that clan and be numbered among that clan’s greatest heroes.

Note: If the highest placing player using the Mad Ronin is a Nezumi player, he will instead be revealed to have been an ally of the Nezumi.
